In 5th grade Science, we will cover a wide spectrum of topics as we look at the world around us. Students explore matter, natural resources, space, and how ALL of these interact and the effect each one has on the other. In Science, students build on concepts from previous year to deliver a deeper understanding of topics.
One of the highlights of 5th grade is our annual 3-day trip to Camp Grady Spruce. This is a great outdoor, hands-on camp that ties in directly to several of our science topics in 5th grade. The cost of camp is $120 per student, but if everyone does his/her part fundraising, the cost will be cut in half or more per student. Initial information will be sent home towards the end of September, so we can start the planning process. Hoodies, cakewalk, and Candygrams are just a few of our fundraisers.
