My Bio

I love my family, and I enjoy teaching!
I have been married to my best friend, David, for 20+ years. We have two kids, Katy and Clint. Katy attends the University Of Louisiana (ULM) in Monroe, LA. She is working on her teaching degree and will graduate in 2017 with a teaching degree. She is studying to be a high school English teacher and wants to coach volleyball. Clint will be in the 10th grade at Kopperl. He enjoys playing football, and I enjoy watching football! A few years ago, a dog wandered up to our house and adopt us. Sadie has been an alone dog until this summer when Clint brought home a puppy named Bandit. My husband and I serve as youth leaders at our church. Family is one of the most important things in my life, and I am thankful for everyday I have with them.
After 11 years of subbing and working as a teacher's aide, I decided to earn a teaching degree. So, at the age of 30 with a one year old, a six year old, and a supportive husband/family, I started Hill College with my younger sister. I received my Associates degree then transferred to Tarleton State University to complete my degree. I graduated from Tarleton in 2006 with my teaching degree.
I started my teaching career in Keene, TX where I taught 7th grade math, 8th grade US History, and 8th grade math support for two years. In 2009, I was hired at Blum to teach beside of my friend, Mrs. Lewis. We were the 5th grade team for three years until she moved down to 4th grade. Now Mrs. Peacock and I make up the 5th grade team.
Outside of the school day, my time is filled with my family and more kids! I am either at my kids' games, my youth kids' games, hanging out with family, spending time outside with kids, hunting, or listening to my guys play their guitars.
